Porsche has never had a factory-backed Formula One team, but the company has supplied engines and other components to F1 teams in the past. In the 1960s and 70s, Porsche supplied engines to various F1 teams including McLaren, Brabham and Tag Williams Racing.
Porsche also developed a V10 engine for the Footwork Arrows team in the early 1990s, but the engine's performance was lackluster and it was eventually dropped.
Since then, Porsche has not been involved in Formula One at a competitive level. However, in recent years there has been speculation that the company might consider entering the sport as a full-fledged team, especially with the introduction of new engine regulations in 2025 that could make F1 more attractive to manufacturers.
In the meantime, Porsche has focused on other forms of motorsport such as endurance racing and Formula E. The company has achieved great success in these arenas, winning multiple championships and races.
